POSITIONSUMMARY
Serving as a member of the Enrollment Initiatives team and reporting to the assistant director for transfer credit evaluation, the transfer credit evaluator is primarily responsible for the review, evaluation and equation of external credit for prospective, admitted, continuing and returning students in order to elevate strategic recruitment strategies and support the student's attainment of educational goals. The person in this position works within and leverages a comprehensive framework of policies and practices for domestic and international credit, providing accurate and timely evaluation of external courses. The person in this position will provide a high level of customer service to students and staff and will collaborate closely with academic stakeholders in determining accurate evaluation of external credit. KEYRESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the assistant director for transfer credit evaluation, the transfer credit evaluator is responsible for reviewing and equating external coursework and nontraditional credit with great accuracy and with a high degree of efficiency. The incumbent must be able to understand and apply industry standards, best practices, accreditation standards and OHIO polices to ensure the accuracy of their work and to protect the integrity of the Ohio University degree. Working within a highly energized and goal driven team with acute attention to customer service, the incumbent will analyze and research individual courses and course descriptions to determine equivalency(s), verify the transferability of courses based on university transfer credit policy, accurately enter equivalencies into the student information system, communicate, collaborate, and maintain relationships with internal and external constituents and prepare reports on transfer credit evaluation activity as requested. Conducts pre-approval of domestic and international external course equivalencies for swirling students.
The transfer credit evaluator will be responsible for staying current with constantly evolving community college and corporate partnerships and associated articulation updates, including daily articulation decisions that aim to expand transferability for students. This person will collaborate closely with other members of the Enrollment Initiatives team, transfer credit articulation analysts and stakeholders in the academic colleges to support the development of new external credit advising guides, general education equivalency guides and academic pathways (2+2, 3+1, etc.) to increase access to the Ohio University experience and support strategic recruitment investments and enrollment pipeline opportunities.
Support OHIO's alignment and compliance with Ohio Articulation Transfer Network policies including the submission and maintenance of Ohio Transfer 36 (OT36), Transfer Assurance Guides (TAG), Career Technical Assurance Guides (CTAG), Industry Recognized Credentials (ITAG), and Military Assurance Guides (MTAG) courses. Also assist with compliance and maintenance of external exam polices rooted in both state and university policies.
Collect updated information from other colleges and universities pertaining to course content and requirements to ensure accuracy in transfer evaluations and update equivalency charts used to evaluate transfer credits based on information received. Access student records to provide information to students and academic units on university wide course equivalencies and transferred credits and maintain student records pertaining to transfer credit evaluations.
This person will work to create and maintain reports, files, and statistical data related to credit evaluation by participating in assessment and collaboration exercises with academic and other university stakeholders. This will ensure transfer credit evaluation and rule creation accuracy in order to uphold the integrity of the Ohio University degree.
Maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials and comply with all published university rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulations related to FERPA and confidentiality of information.
The person in this position provides a high level of customer service to prospective, admitted, continuing and returning students and collaborates closely with staff and faculty specialists to determine appropriate interpretation and application of policies and procedures as they relate to external credit.
Provide assistance to internal and external constituents seeking information on transfer credit evaluation policies and procedures. Prepare and provide correspondence related to students' transcript evaluation results in a timely manner. Participate in recruitment events, new student orientation and to support recruitment staff to elevate strategic recruitment strategies and increase the overall effectiveness of recruitment activities.
Attends and participates in staff meetings; serves on teams and committees as assigned. Attends training and professional development as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree by start date or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will receive full consideration.
At least one year of related work experience in transfer initiatives in higher education, including transfer credit evaluation; transcript processing; transfer student recruitment, admission, and yield; or transfer credit policy and procedures.

Based on extensive benchmarking data, the advisor position is mapped to Pay Grade CA&P 14 at OHIO, with a target hiring range of $36,279-$40,788. The exact base salary for the selected candidate will be negotiable, commensurate with education and experience, and competitive in the field within the context of similarly situated positions at public universities nationally.
