Position Summary:
University Advancement has a vacancy for a highly-motivated and goal-oriented individual who will be tasked with raising funds for the Division of Student Life. Joining a dynamic team of fundraising professionals, the Associate Director of Advancement for Student Life will play an integral role in the university's comprehensive advancement program, which is currently in the final stages of a transformative billion-dollar campaign.
As part of a robust talent management strategy, the Associate Director will be given the opportunity to learn about other areas of the university and to work with a broad range of prospects in order to position them more strongly for advancement within the division and rank.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in securing resources for the current activities and future priorities of the Division of Student Life. Student Life creates experiences and opportunities that enhance students' learning and personal growth. It provides resources that enrich the lives of UB's students, augments their connection to the UB community, and prepares them for life after graduation.
Duties will include:
Work closely with the Executive Director of Advancement, Student Life divisional leadership, as well as other staff members, faculty, and key volunteers to pursue a coordinated and strategic program of identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of special and major gift prospects and donors for Student Life.
Develop and manage a donor/prospect portfolio of individuals, including those in early-stage cultivation and/or with whom the university has little to no relationship. The Associate Director is responsible for carrying a portfolio of 125-150 individuals, conducting 120+ donor visits per year, and securing gifts of $50k+.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
A minimum of two years in a fund-development or revenue-generating role, with demonstrated success in goal achievement, planning, and personal solicitation. Related experience in professional sales/marketing, financial planning/advising and other fields will be considered.
Technical/digital competence
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen and interact effectively with donors or high-level volunteers.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (which includes local and regional travel) and to work evenings and on occasional weekends.
