Job Overview

The Special Master's Program (SMP) in Physiology, housed within the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, is a one-year graduate-level program designed to help college graduates strengthen their academic credentials in preparation for application to US medical schools. The cornerstone of the SMP curriculum is a significant, integrated educational experience with first-year medical students (M1) at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. In addition to several first-year medical-school courses, SMP students complete graduate- level courses in physiology, statistics, capstone research, and professional development.
The Special Master's Program is seeking to hire a Program Manager to work with the program's Academic Director and the College's faculty and staff to administer the program, provide academic support, develop new programmatic elements, and coach and advise students.
The Program Manager will also provide administrative and academic support for the Master's in Pharmacology Program, Applied Pharmacology & Drug Toxicology Track. Learn more at https://med.uc.edu/education/pharmacology-ms/home

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Essential Functions
Manage, design, develop, modify, and present academic programs.
Provide academic support to faculty teaching courses (including learning management system tasks and exam proctoring).
Advise students in their academic coursework and professional development.
Coach students in academic skills and time management.
Aid in instructional design projects.
Perform program needs assessment and make recommendations.
Act as liaison to internal (College of Medicine) departments, external entities, and community organizations.
Prepare and edit reports, newsletters, publicity, and recruitment materials.
Serve on admissions committees and administer recruitment and admissions functions.
Provide administrative supervision of tutors and learning community leaders.
Perform related duties based on departmental need.
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree.
Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
Three (3) years of relevant experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Master's degree in higher education.
Experience in graduate student affairs.
Experience in or knowledge of healthcare careers.
Strong organizational skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Knowledge of learning management (e.g. Canvas, Leo), student information (e.g. Catalyst), and admissions systems (e.g. Slate).
