Applications are being accepted for the position of director of campus safety. The director will implement, evaluate, and maintain effective procedures to assure the optimum level of security for students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors, including the safeguarding of college property. This position supervises contracted staff members and is responsible for the review and enforcement of security, life safety, fire safety, parking policies and procedures, and crisis planning and preparedness.
The Director will coordinate or assist with training and investigations of potential policy violations, assuring that investigations are dealt with professionally, sensitively, and in accordance with college policy and statutory legal guidelines. The position requires excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills and the ability to interact effectively with a variety of constituencies - especially students, employees, law enforcement and emergency response professionals, community leaders, and neighboring area residents. The director of campus safety has an important role to play in supporting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and ensuring that the staff can respond in ways that are culturally relevant to our student population.

Work Location & Conditions
The position is expected to work in person on campus in Mount Vernon. All requirements are subject to change over time, with possible modifications made to reasonably accommodate individuals with a disability.
The hiring pay range is $52,000 - $62,000.
