Leadership and Community Engagement is a department within the Division of Student Life who strives to engage students in the Ohio State community and beyond through access to high quality leadership programs, service opportunities, philanthropic giving, and community engagement programs. Reporting the Assistant Director of Student Leadership Development, The Coordinator provides leadership and direction for programming that allows students to develop leadership skills.
The Coordinator provides opportunities for individual students and student organizations to engage in meaningful leadership development experiences. This position will directly support and coordinate leadership programming for the Leadership and COmmunity Engagement department, including supervising the Student Leadership Advocates, and leading key leadership programming including the LEAD Series, Leadership Awards, and LeaderShape. The coordinator will foster student learning and development outcomes related to inclusive and equitable leadership development. They also will support the Mount Leadership Society Scholars program; administer the program budget; and coordinate program planning for related initiatives and special projects.
This will be a two year term position with possibility of renewal.
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Additional Education Desired: Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; 2 years of relevant experience; administrative experience in program planning and student affairs at the college level.
Desired Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel or similar field strongly preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge of student development theory; experience working in large collegiate setting; experience with planning and executing large programs; knowledge of and experience in working with students, staff, and alumni; experience working with development and fundraising initiatives; knowledge of leadership, and social justice issues.
