Job Description:
The Assistant Director of Residence Life is a live-in position and is responsible for facilitating a robust student experience at the Ashland University College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CONHS) campus located in Mansfield, OH.
Information Desk (average 10 staff members)
Recruit students during the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.
Coordinate and schedule interviews with candidates and RA's (interviewers).
Onboard staff by providing HR documentation, Information Desk Handbook and Student Affairs Confidentiality Agreement.
Coordinate and conduct training for new hires.
Create a monthly schedule for staff.
Provide after hours support for staff.
Revise Information Desk Handbook with new procedures and workflows.
Resident Assistants (4 staff members)
Oversee the Staff Selection Process via eRez Life.
Participate in RA Recruitment Day.
Assist with training RA's on policies, procedures, and crisis response applicable to the CONHS campus.
Oversee bi-weekly one on ones (8 meetings a month).
Conduct bi-weekly staff meetings (2 meetings a month).
Support community by attending RA Floor Programs (8 programs a semester).
Housing & Facilities
Coordinate housing placements for the CONHS campus three times a year (Fall, Spring and Summer) via eRez Life.
Coordinate break housing and housing lottery process with Housing Coordinator.
Partner with the Director of Facilities to coordinate cleaning turnaround process throughout the entire year (room change request, closing / opening of residence halls). Ensure routine cleanings in academic building and residence halls
Partner with Building Services Team to communicate work orders for the residence halls and academic building.
Closing inspections of residence halls.
Maintain key roster and conduct key audit at closing.
Oversee the billing process for break housing, housing cancellation fee and housing damages.
Coordinate summer housing placements for Doctor of Nursing Practitioner (DNP) students.
Onboarding of New Cohorts
Coordinate workflow and implement 3 move-in days (January, May and August) for three academic programs (previously 2 move in days for 2 academic programs) PA, Accelerated and Traditional Nursing Students.
Create onboarding Form for Accelerated students
Onboarding process includes the creation of students Eagle IDs, processing of parking passes and coordinating housing assignments.
Maintain consistent communication with students and departments to ensure onboarding process is completed prior to move – in and orientation.
Create Student Requirement Form for PA students
Housing Placements (workflow includes communications with ATS and Main Campus as students can live on any campus).
Process Eagle IDs and parking passes.
Attend New Student Orientations (PA and Accelerated) to provide an overview of the support offered and expectations of the campus.
Safety Services & Schmidt Security
Process approximately 200 parking passes for the CONHS campus and create workflow for distribution of the passes.
Review Daily Reports from Schmidt Security.
Serve as the liaison for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences Campus and Schmidt Security.
Partner with Schmidt Security and Safety Services to follow up on incident reports and maintain the safety of the campus.
Maintain key box security access.
College of Nursing and Health Sciences Administration
Partner with the Nursing Administrative Team to create consistent policies, communication and expectations.
Administrative Duties
Oversee budget lines.
Process monthly p-card purchase statements.
Submit check request and reimbursement forms for expenses.
Ensure mail and packages are delivered to residents and return UTF mail to the mailroom for processing.
YMCA
Create registration form for YMCA Registrations each semester.
Coordinate with YMCA Director to ensure accurate registration count for invoice.
Partner with Rec Services to ensure student access is updated.
Provide rosters to the Business Office to ensure students are billed for their membership.
Student Activities
Plan student activities to build community on and off campus for the entire CONHS community.
Blackboard TransAct
Assist students with door and swipe access issues.
Wellness
Partner with the Director of Recreational Services to implement wellness initiatives.
Career Services
Partner with the Career Center for Life Calling to implement various initiatives.
Student Conduct
Serve as Student Conduct Officer for the College of Nursing and Health Science Campus.
Crisis Responder
Respond and intervene in crisis situations.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred or minimum 2 years of professional experience within a college setting.
Qualified candidates will be required to reside in a furnished CONHS campus apartment located in Mansfield, OH.
