Job Summary
Directs the strategic planning of various student support services, such as the President's Focused Learners program, First Gen Program, and summer bridge programs. Supports KSU's mission and values and consults with leadership to address the overall quality and deliverables around these services and ensures milestones are met. Plans and develops established enrollment policies and integrates targets to ensure consistency within each service. Facilitates the development of activities designed to attract, motivate and retain undergraduate students and promote college degree attainment. Provides guidance and support related to advancing university-wide student success by working closely with executive leadership and campus-wide stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and align those areas of improvement with the overall mission of the University. Ensures the services support the success of students with meeting academic and graduation goals. Proposes evidence-based practices and solutions to work toward integrative, consistent, high-quality programming for undergraduates at KSU.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Responsible for the overall design planning, coordination, and success of various student support services with KSU 2. Responsible for management of assigned staff, department budget, allocation of resources, and resolving programmatic problems 3. Partners with the Executive Director for Student Advising and Retention, college-based advising directors, and/or individual advisors to create and implement a unified, pro-active vision of student success, and will provide quality assurance for campus academic advising and coaching units as it relates to student support services 4. Assists in the resolution of students' academic issues and serve as a resource to students, faculty, and staff seeking assistance 5. Develops and/or coordinates opportunities for students by partnering with academic resources at KSU to establish personalized programming 6. Proactively creates outreach efforts to support students by analyzing student data 7. Creates student-focused opportunities to increase participation in university-wide events and services 8. Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with key figures in each academic college 9. Assists in the gathering of student information and data to support student support services evaluation 10. Analyzes data to inform future program direction and decisions 11. Coordinates student opportunities with various campus stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements Master's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Higher Education Administration or related field is required.
Required Experience Four (4) years of experience in designing, managing, or implementing similar programs in Advising, Student Success, or related field and two (2) years of supervisory experience.

KNOWLEDGE Strong knowledge of academic advising, including policies, academic disciplines, coursework, and graduation requirements is especially important Demonstrated success in working with colleagues and students from different academic, cultural, and social backgrounds to create a culture of inclusiveness and productive collaboration Expanded knowledge of alternate advising data systems
SKILLS Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills Excellent analytical, organizational, and computer skills and demonstrate strong technical skills Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite) Strong attention to detail and follow up skills Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
