Position Description
As a member of the senior leadership team for Executive and Continuing Professional Education (ECPE), this position provides complete program management and client support for all custom programs. This postholder serves as a primary liaison between ECPE and external clients, handles all project management responsibilities related to custom program clients, working closely with HSPH faculty, and multiple stakeholders around the school. Working with the program delivery team, the associate director will oversee the details of program logistics as well as more strategic project planning for multiple custom projects, with an emphasis on relationship building. This position will have 1 direct report which may increase as the number of projects increases. The Associate Director will also have input into the policies and procedures of the ECPE department and represent the department as needed to both internal and external stakeholders. The Associate director will also take on other projects as needed.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Custom Program Management:
Serves as primarily first contact for custom inquiries, including vetting of opportunities and lead administrator for management of all custom projects
Works with Executive Director on proposals and contracting
Defines requirements of project and timeline and ensures adequate resources available to support projects
Prepares and revises detailed work plans for design and delivery of corporate contract deliverables
Develops and provides deliverables in a structured, clear, professional format (high level agenda, learning goals, sessions content, etc.)
Coordinates with clients to ensure alignment on key milestones and important topics (e.g. logistics for workshops, etc)
Organizes all training and briefing materials for corporate clients
Actively manages other Harvard stakeholders to ensure focus on client deliverables and client responsiveness (e.g. with legal, finance department etc)
Follows up with faculty and client on major actions
Prepares regular progress updates to clients, including next steps, key issues and potential resolutions
Works closely with the Director of Administration & Finance to manage corporate projects within budget
Other responsibilities:
Part of the senior leadership team for ECPE, contributing to polices and overall management of the department.
Manages staff
Collaborates on or leads process improvements, best practices, and new initiatives to increase client focused service;
Assists with program delivery and willing to travel when needed
Represents HSPH/ECPE to corporate clients and participants, faculty or senior ECPE and school management as directed, through written memos, presentations, written or oral briefings, or other reporting formats.
Regularly participates in senior management and business development meetings.
Performs other duties as necessary
PLEASE NOTE: Travel and evening/weekend work required to support programs. Must be flexible with hours pre, during, and post program, must be able to be in Boston, MA for in-person programs. Employee is responsible for travel and accommodations when work is required in Boston, if employee does not live locally. This is a hybrid position and this position will be based in Boston, MA. Additional detail pertaining to this position will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed in a state in which Harvard is registered to do business (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, California (exempt staff only), Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, Virginia, and Washington).
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
Minimum of 7 years' relevant work experience
Additional Qualifications and Skills
