Furman University's four-year residential requirement, together with the comprehensive renovation of the entire residential facilities inventory and construction of a new residence hall scheduled to open Fall 2024, is an exciting and unique environment to see the impact of student's residential experience. Under the supervision of the Associate Director for Finance and Administration, the Area Coordinator has the responsibility for the management and supervision of Residence Life student staff and programs in one of three residential areas, meeting with students, and assisting with the coordination of various aspects of the Residence Life program for the University.
Two positions are available: South Housing (715 beds), home to all first - year students, and North Village (1042 beds), home to our 3rd and 4th - year students.
At least two years experience in the management of a residence hall community including direct supervision of the student staff team.
Understanding of the importance of student learning outcomes.
Must have excellent organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
Ability to interact with a diverse population.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude in time of crisis.
