The Data and Student Services Associate will provide support to the College of Engineering (COE) MGEN co-op leadership in the day-to-day workflow and effective operation of the co-op program, assist Co-op Coordinators with projects to prepare students, and manage data reporting and administrative support for a growing fast-paced team.
The Data and Student Services Associate will focus in two key areas:
Data and Operations Support
Analyze and compile data/information, and develop advanced data reports to evaluate student hiring, events, employer surveys, etc.; create forms and summarize data sets through Google Apps, Microsoft Office Suite, esp. Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, and other applications.
Coordinate efforts to uphold the completeness and integrity of data in various co-op systems; serve as liaison with central co-op technology team and across COE.
Maintain relevant student and co-op databases including Banner, Argos, SalesForce and Symplicity.
Develop communication materials and manage distribution of timelines, reminders, events and surveys for employers and students.
Student & Employer Support
Assist with preparation of co-op class materials; provide support for Canvas course administration and course enrollment activities.
Review employer evaluations and student self-assessments of the student co-op work experience.
Lead and/or assist with organization of co-op related events and on-campus employer activities.
Review and comment on student guided inquiries, updating Co-op Coordinators; review status of responses and send reminders as needed.
The Data and Student Services Associate may be re-allocated to different teams and leadership within COE MGEN co-op depending upon business needs. Qualifications
Provide the minimum education, experience, and skills required to perform the job successfully.
Bachelor's degree or minimum 2 years of equivalent professional experience in an academic or business/industry environment
Applicant must demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, including attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and complete tasks for a number of different people
Candidate should enjoy problem solving and be very good at troubleshooting
A high level of proficiency with technology including Excel (complex formulas and logic)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are expected.
Willingness and desire to learn and contribute to the design of new processes, systems, and tools.
Proven success working both independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced and diverse environment.
Knowledge of Python or SQL are a plus.
