The Coordinator of Residential Education Outreach and Communication reports to the Assistant Director of Recruitment and Development. Responsible for distributing all marketing and promotional print and digital materials to the community. Manages updates made to the website and the creation of graphics for an entire department. Manages all departmental communication, including email alias, Residential Education office phone operations, departmental social media channels, and community newsletters. Provides photography and videography needs to promote the department. Works with campus partners such as Housing Services, Campus Safety, and Facilities to ensure the community is adequately informed about residential operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervision:
Supervise and provide leadership for student staff (Graduate and Undergraduate , communicate expectations and monitor work processes.
Provide ongoing direction & feedback about performance through established 1:1 meetings and ongoing performance evaluations.
Communication and Marketing:
This role will proactively work with colleagues across Residential Education, Student Success and other cross campus partners to support content that educates, inspires, entertains, and persuades multiple audience segments.
Oversee the Residential Education departmental email aliases and communication efforts with parents, families, students and campus partners.
Manage all communication and marketing that goes out to residential community.
Oversee the development of printed and digital materials,, banners, advertising, website, and other related marketing products.
Lead social media content and strategy for Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn pages.
Work with RE team to identify and develop potential news and blog stories, across print, web, and digital newsletters.
Work in collaboration with hall staff to coordinate communication efforts.
Create and implement residential education newsletter and social media presence.
Collaborate with the Student Success Communications team and universities Marketing and Communications team.
Provide photography and videography needs to promote Residential Education events and activities.Â
Residential Experience
Serves on departmental and university committees and leads initiatives as needed.
Serves as a liaison for The New School community and acts as a referral resource for faculty, staff, student, parents, and families.
Engages in occasional evening and weekend work.Â
Other duties as assigned.Â

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors and 2-3 years of relevant experience in communication, psychology, marketing and Higher Education.
Ability to manage multiple collaborative projects and systems in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Experience with visual design and website editing software (CMS, Starrezz, Adobe, etc).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working in Student Affairs (Residential Life, Student Activities, etc).
Extensive knowledge and understanding of marketing strategies within Higher Education.
Excellent communication skills when working with outside agencies including parent/families, campus partners and students.
WORK MODE
Hybrid/Split - Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (eg: 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely. #LI-HYBRID
