The Institutional Effectiveness and Research team at Austin Peay State University seeks an Assessment Analyst. The Assessment Analyst will contribute to work that supports excellence in the student learning experience through: outcomes assessment; faculty, staff, and student engagement; and meaningful use of data to improve teaching, learning, and institutional practice. The Assessment Analyst is part of the Institutional Effectiveness and Research team, which includes staff in institutional effectiveness and assessment, institutional research, and the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).
The Assessment Analyst supports the implementation and assessment of the QEP (60%) and other assessment and data projects in institutional effectiveness and institutional research (40%). The QEP is a five-year institutional action research project designed to improve student learning outcomes and/or success. The QEP is an integral requirement of Austin Peay’s accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and is designed to support student writing for their academic and professional success. The Assessment Analyst will work with the Director of the QEP to develop, coordinate, and promote semesterly assessments and activities related to the QEP.
This position will also conduct assessment processes, data collection, data analysis, and data presentation related to institutional effectiveness, general education assessment, and institutional research (40%). This position requires the use of various systems and tools to design assessments, collect data, conduct analysis, verify and maintain data, correct errors, and create reports and data visualizations, including survey software (Qualtrics), MS Excel (including data analysis tools), Power BI, Banner (student information system), Argos, D2L (learning management system), and assessment and accreditation software (currently Watermark and MS Teams).
Bachelor’s degree.
At least one year experience in assessment and/or data analysis, preferably in higher education
Strong interpersonal and written/ verbal communication skills.
