Job Description:
The Admissions Recruiter will assist in the attainment of student recruitment goals as set by the University leadership team. Working within the Office of Admissions in collaboration with the College of Dental Medicine, College of Dental Medicine Dean and College of Medicine Joplin Campus to plan and execute a variety of student recruitment related programs. Helps with the execution of on campus events in Joplin and Kansas City.
The Admissions Recruiter is required to travel up to 50% of the time, with heaviest concentration of travel occurring in the fall and spring
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Functions as the primary communicator to prospective College of Dental Medicine students
- Assists in the attainment of student recruitment goals with an emphasis on diverse and equitable recruiting strategies
- Partners with MO, OK, KS, AR colleges and other colleges to ensure diversity in the College of Dental Medicine student body
- Plans and executes a variety of student recruitment related programs and/or events for both College of Dental Medicine and College of Osteopathic Medicine
- Cultivates relationships with prospective students
- Ability to multi-task, balance multiple projects in stressful situations and with frequent interruption, yet, able to perform assignments accurately, attain deadlines, and maintain positive relations
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate small to large meetings, while providing excellent customer service
- Excellent follow-through skills required
- Ability to work in a team environment and interact closely with team members
- Ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
- Willing and available to travel, with the heaviest concentration of travel occurring in the fall and spring equating to approximately 25% of the time
- Represents department and the University favorably and in accordance with established Core Values and expectations
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related degree required
- Two years of recruitment (preferably Admissions) and/or Student Affairs experience in a health professional/academic institution of higher learning
- Two years of experience traveling for recruitment
- Experience in a leadership position, managing processes and facilitating student/faculty interactions, a plus
- Must have excellent oral/written communication and presentation/public speaking skills
- Demonstrated poise, competence, and professionalism in addressing large groups of people and/or leadership constituents
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate small to large meetings, while providing excellent customer service
- Must have excellent organizational skills, be detail-oriented, a self-starter, and able to work independently and/or under minimum supervision
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, balance multiple projects in stressful situations and with frequent interruption, yet, able to perform assignments accurately, attain deadlines, and maintain positive relations
- Requires ability to maintain computerized record keeping systems
- Must maintain on-going, insurable driving record
- Willing and available to travel up to 50% of the time, with heaviest concentration of travel occurring in the fall and spring
