Position Summary
The Event Coordinator, Community Building is responsible for the coordination of events scheduled as a part of the Community Building programming through the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. The Event Coordinator works with the Program Manager in the coordination of cross-functional teams of students, staff, and faculty to encourage education, training, and dialogue about current events on college campuses.
This position is a two-year time-limited role.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Serves as the point of contact to clients who take part in CB Events. Ensures spaces are operational for all functions and that all requirements are met for events. Clients are identified as students, faculty, staff or individuals and groups external to the University.
Reviews upcoming events and contacts participants to confirm event times and determines set-up needs. Serves as office liaison with specific departments with ongoing, high-profile events. Participates in weekly operations meetings to review upcoming events with campus partners.
Compiles and distributes event information to clients, Facilities, University Police, catering, housekeeping, card access and any additional contractors if necessary, through the issuance of event reports, diagrams and event specifications.
Educates participants and vendors on space guidelines and conducts site visits as it pertains to the location and type of event.
Assists with recruitment and selection of student event assistants. Assists in training and supervision of student employees.
Performs other duties as assigned.

$21.17 - $32.85 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
