Overview
The Assistant Director, Communications and Technology will contribute to multiple communications, data and assessment projects. It will also assist with technology and reporting tasks. Areas of responsibility will rotate depending on departmental cycles. This is a 2 year benefits eligible term position.

Responsibilities
Communications & Marketing - 75%
Collaborate with team members and assist in developing and implementing promotional strategies for events and initiatives
Provide copy writing, editing and proofing support of print and digital projects, working with vendors as needed
Contribute to research, writing and distribution of departmental reports and career development resources
Fulfill update process of career exploration website
Fulfill periodic content updates for departmental website
Populate email templates for distribution to student groups and campus partners including employers, faculty and staff
Provide support for event planning and execution
Other projects as assigned
Assessment, Data Analysis & Technology - 25%
Assist with survey development, distribution, collection, clean-up and analysis
Contribute to data analysis projects such as coding qualitative data and analyzing trends
Conduct research and benchmarking projects
Monitor analytics for websites and develop performance reports
Perform ad hoc data entry in career management system (i.e. Handshake) such as entering event attendees
Manage requests for career management system accounts
Update staff and student worker permissions and profiles as needed in career management system, website and other databases/systems
Update email distribution lists
Qualifications
Strong writing and communications skills
A passion for supporting undergraduate and graduate students and alumni and working within a student-focused and student responsive environment
High levels of resourcefulness, influence/organizational savvy, and ability to see projects through to completion
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build effective relationships with partners across the organization and institution
Intermediate proficiency with spreadsheets
Basic familiarity with social media and content management systems
Ability to conduct research, gather and interpret data
Comfort with change, ambiguity and risk in a fast-paced environment
Must be proactive, able to work independently and still know when to ask supervisor for direction or support
Strong focus on problem-solving and process-improvement
Sensitivity to confidential matters is required; must be able to exercise excellent judgment and decision-making skills
Experience in working with and supporting underrepresented populations, and deep commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion goals
