The target salary range is $51,281 to $64,000 commensurate with the selected candidate’s education and experience while considering internal equity.

The Assistant Director of Employer Engagement is responsible for helping to lead implementation of the strategy for employer engagement. With a focus on building new employer relationships, as well as growing key existing relationships in the colleges across campus. The incumbent will be responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing career and employer programs which support the student and employer experience. This position is highly collaborative, serving as a connection point between employers, students, and faculty & staff while also establishing and sustaining relationships with key employers.
1) Employer and Alumni Engagement: Build relationships with employers (including alumni) campus-wide to increase internship and full-time opportunities for students. Outreach to companies that have established recruiting relationships at OHIO with an intentional focus on those who have not been active at the university. Recruit organizations to participate in on-campus and virtual recruiting events, such as career fairs, information sessions, panels, and more. Develop recruiting plans with key companies to identify their needs while assessing and focusing on service gaps. Support operations and events teams for events such as career fairs. Collaborate with the Ohio University Alumni Association to share information about employer/alumni engagement, discuss areas of need, and strategize opportunities to collaborate.
2) Department initiatives, campus collaboration, and liaison relationships: Collaborate with other units and departments focused on student success, well-being, and belonging. Engage in DOSA committees and workgroups. Serve as a liaison to assigned college(s), as well as other units and departments that align with department initiatives. Supports work related to University, Division of Student Affairs, and Career Services strategic priorities and initiatives.
3) Strategy: In collaboration with the Executive Director, the Career Services team, college leadership, and stakeholders, implement a strategic employer relations plan for university including but not limited to: maintaining and developing relationships with key employers, building engagement opportunities, supporting recruiting and networking events sponsored by Career Services and/or individual colleges. Support employers’ job or internship postings through colleges and Handshake.
