The Residence Life Coordinator’s primary responsibility in creating a positive and supportive living environment for Columbia College students residing in on-campus apartments. *The responsibilities listed below may not be all inclusive. The larger Volz Company team will provide support and guidance, especially related to best practices and standard operating procedures.
Student Engagement and Support: • Foster a sense of community among residents. • Organize and participate in social, educational, and recreational programming. • Provide emotional support and referrals to campus resources. • Address student concerns and mediate conflicts.
Leasing Assistance: • Collaborate with the leasing team to promote and fill available units. • Conduct property tours for prospective students and their families. • Assist with lease signings, move-ins, and move-outs. • Ensure a smooth transition for new residents.
Resident Advisor (RA) Training and Supervision: • Train and mentor four Resident Advisors (RAs) on community policies, emergency procedures, and student engagement. • Conduct regular RA meetings and provide ongoing support. • Collaborate with RAs to plan and execute programming.
Community Safety and Security: • Be familiar with emergency protocols and evacuation procedures. • Address safety concerns promptly. • Coordinate with campus security and local authorities as needed.
Maintenance Coordination: • Report maintenance requests and follow up on repairs. • Conduct regular inspections of common areas and student apartments. • Ensure cleanliness and functionality of community spaces.
Crisis Management: • Respond to emergencies, including after-hours incidents. • Provide support during crises (e.g., natural disasters, health emergencies). • Maintain accurate incident logs and communicate with campus administration.
Administrative Tasks: • Maintain accurate records related to student occupancy, incidents, and programming. • Assist with room assignments, roommate conflicts, and housing contracts. • Collaborate with the housing office on administrative processes.
Qualifications: • Associate or bachelor’s degree (preferably in student affairs, education, or a related field). • Key competencies are communication, teamwork, initiative, and dependability. • 1-3 years of experience in residential life, student housing, or related roles. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and be on-call as needed. • Commitment to student development and community building. • Expected to work 40 hours a week with some overnight and on call responsibilities.
Compensation: • Hourly range of $25-$28. • Live-on position with a two-bedroom, one bathroom apartment provided. • We offer a competitive compensation package including health insurance and 401k.

The Columbia College Housing Team is looking for a talented and passionate live-on Residence Life
Coordinator to join our team in the Tuolumne County area. The residential community includes 48
apartments, designed for a maximum of 192 residents. Students may select either a double occupancy
floorplan or a single occupancy floorplan. All apartments are two-bedroom, one bathroom that includes
bedroom furniture and a kitchenette. This strategic hire is an opportunity for the right individual to
leverage their interests and passion in student affairs to oversee and support the on-campus student
