Temporary Assistant Manager, Bowling Center
Student and Campus Life (SCL) inspires transformation in all Cornell students on their journey of individual, academic and personal evolution. The Temporary Assistant Manager for the Bowling Center's primary responsibility is to manage the bowling Physical Education program while academic classes are in session. Duties for the PE classes include Canvas preparation, communication with students, lesson plan preparation, teaching classes, and evaluation and grading according to the PE Department policies. The individual will also assist with managing the bowling center on evenings and weekends throughout the year. Duties for managing the bowling center will include supervising student and part-time staff, tending the bar, overseeing play on the lanes, and performing lane maintenance and minor repairs on machines. This person must be able to manage the bowling center for short terms in the manager's absence and make sound judgments as to bowling center policies and procedures.

- Excellent customer service skills, problem solving skills, computing skills and the ability to think quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Pay rate: $21.00/hour

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, with several years of experience teaching bowling to high school or college age students.
- 2 years of experience working in commercial or educational bowling center operations.
- Experience working with very diverse populations.
- Basic computer skills - Microsoft Office, etc.
- American Red Cross Adult AED, CPR and First Aid within the first three months of hire.
- Passionate about working in an organization that values and promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, and wellbeing.
- Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two-year degree in business.
- Managerial experience in a commercial or educational bowling or recreation facility.
- Mechanical background in machinery operations and repairs.
- Bartending experience.
