This position, housed within the Bellarmine University Counseling Center, will serve in a central role coordinating the Garrett Lee Smith (GLS) Campus Suicide Prevention Grant Knights Care Program. This three-year, SAMHSA-funded grant seeks to expand infrastructure and enhance access to mental health and substance abuse services for Bellarmine University students, with particular focus on supporting first-generation, low-income, underrepresented racial minority (URM), and LGBTQ+ students. This is a grant funded position with a projected end date of September 29, 2027.
Essential Responsibilities
General administrative responsibilities in coordinating major elements of GLS grant, including planning meetings; documentation; tracking, collecting, and analyzing data; preparing reports
Promote, plan, and conduct gatekeeper training (QPR, MHFA) and other mental health outreach education for faculty staff, and students
Conduct mental health/substance abuse needs assessments and referrals
Provide case management with high-risk students
Collaborate with Wellness and Prevention Specialist on planning, promoting, and conducting mental health and substance abuse screening events, messaging campaign, and signature wellness events
Participate in various planning meetings including Counseling Center staff meetings, Student Affairs staff meetings, Health and Well-Being Leadership Team, monthly project meetings, and quarterly Bellarmine Partners in Prevention Network meetings
Maintain community referral network and community partners
Collaborate with Advisor for Clinical Services in training and supervision of Peer Mental Health Advocates
Job Requirements:
Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, public health, or related field.
Professional experience working with first-generation, low-income, underrepresented racial minority (URM), and/or LGBTQI+ populations.
Knowledge of mental health/substance abuse conditions and treatments.
Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of mental health systems and resources.
Demonstrated effectiveness in working with culturally diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional experience with case management, college student populations, and mental health/substance abuse prevention.
