The CSU Health Network is recruiting for a Manager of Substance Misuse Prevention.
The Manager of Substance Misuse Prevention position provides leadership and oversight of an inclusive, campus alcohol and other drugs prevention program. The position is responsible for daily administration, supervision and management of the program that includes a comprehensive suite of population-based strategies related to prevention education and promotion of responsible behavior around substances, resourcing, early identification, policy, as well as addressing the ecosystems in which health behavior decisions are made. The position requires a foundational understanding and application of the public health model of prevention and harm reduction, as well as diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice and its impact on individual and population health.
The Manager chairs the campus community Substance Misuse Prevention Advisory Committee to collectively foster and align program strategic direction, cultivate partnerships and collaborations and educate partners on student health trends and important information to inform their work in support of student substance misuse prevention. This position manages the process and campus reporting requirement for the Federal Drug Free Schools and Communities Act (DFSCA) Biennial Review, as well as assists campus with yearly Clery Act reporting and related communications requirements.
The Manager works collaboratively with staff within the Health Education and Prevention Services (HEPS) team, CSU Health Network, on campus and in the community to assure program success. The position is a critical member of several campus and community committees contributing to prevention and student success efforts.
The Manager currently supervises a Student Assistant and may supervise a Coordinator. The position also advises the peer support Ram Recovery Community. The Manager position is a 12-month, exempt, Administrative Professional position and reports directly to the Director of Health Education and Prevention Services.
