Carnegie Mellon University is a highly selective global research university with more than 13,900 students and nearly 6,000 faculty and staff. Recognized for its exceptional arts and technology programs, we collaborate across subject areas and empower creative leadership in the fields of Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Public Policy & Information Systems, and Science. Carnegie Mellon is consistently ranked among the top 25 universities in the United States.

Carnegie Mellon University's division of Student Affairs is searching for a Coordinator of Community Standards and Integrity/Housefellow. This is an excellent opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by managing key administrative and programmatic aspects of the university's community standards and academic disciplinary actions processes, educate students on community expectations, and ensure that university responses to violations of CMU standards are developmental and representative of our values.

Core responsibilities will include:

  • Managing follow-up for community standards complaints and academic integrity violations reported to the Office of Community Standards and Integrity;

  • Coordinating workflow for academic and non-academic violations including documentation, tracking, and reporting;

  • Facilitate the resolution processes for violations of the Sexual Misconduct Policy (Interim);

  • Leading process logistics related to the Academic Review Board and University Disciplinary Committee, including selection and training of board members;

  • Consulting with faculty, students and colleagues within university governing bodies, to include General Counsel, University Police, and the Office for Institutional Equity and Title IX;

  • Facilitate educational programs for the campus community;

  • Participating in the Resolution Review Board; and

  • Overseeing and reviewing applicable policies and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned

Additionally, you will serve as a Housefellow for a residential house community. Encompassing more than a traditional residence life position, the Housefellow's role involves serving as students' primary metacurricular advocate at the university while enhancing their social, academic, intellectual, artistic and personal development.

Please submit a resume and cover letter with your application.

The Housefellow role is an excellent opportunity if you thrive in a vibrant, dynamic and fast-paced work environment. Housefellows at Carnegie Mellon University are experienced student affairs generalists with an unparalleled opportunity to:

  • Serve as primary university contact and advocate for students living within a designated residential house community and supervise the residential staff;

  • Owning the creation of a thriving residential experience through ensuring the execution of the engage framework. Serving as a conduit for connecting students to the broader metacurricular experience of Carnegie Mellon University;

  • Coordinate emergency response and on-going case management for designated residential population. Liaise and collaborate with campus partners including but not limited to Housing Services, Division of Student Affairs, College Liaisons, University Health Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, and academic partners to provide community and student support.

If desired, you may have the option to be provided with university owned or managed housing that is proximate to campus, contingent on agreement to serve in the campus-wide emergency response daily rotation.

You should have strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach, and excellent relationship building abilities. Flexibility, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Student Affairs. Inclusion, collaboration and cultural sensitivity are valued competencies at CMU. Therefore, we are in search of a team member who is able to effectively interact with a dynamic population of internal and external partners at a high level of integrity. We are looking for someone who shares our values and who will support the mission of the university through their work.
