Position Summary:
The primary location of this position is the Cullowhee, NC campus.
The Assistant Director of Business Operations is a key member of the Campus Recreation & Wellness (CRW) management team, reporting to the Senior Associate Director. Major responsibilities include overseeing front-end business operations, managing communication regarding programs, services, and policies, and handling budget management, purchasing, and travel coordination. The role also involves training and supervising student workers on operational procedures and managing records.
Specific tasks include coordinating payroll deductions, maintaining member databases through Fusion software, managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring compliance with records retention schedules, reconciling budgets, processing payments and reimbursements, and preparing budget reports.
Additionally, the Assistant Director of Business Operations serves as the primary contact for membership inquiries, manages communication with external vendors, oversees feedback processes, and assists Club Sport Officers with financial matters.
The position requires supporting departmental programs, working flexible hours, and contributing to the overall mission of Campus Recreation and Wellness.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for this position: Minimum Qualifications:
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without requiring employment sponsorship for immigration purposes.
Bachelors degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Previous demonstrated cash-handling experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written formats, as demonstrated by previous roles or assessments.
Demonstrated experience in managing challenging situations with professionalism, as evidenced by specific examples or feedback from past positions.
Track record of independently identifying problems and implementing effective solutions, supported by documented outcomes or performance reviews.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with additional office software, as shown by certifications or relevant work experience.
