The BASICS Triage Coordinator performs a variety of programmatic and administrative tasks for the Universityâ™s Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students (BASICS) Program. In addition to overseeing all functions of the BASICS program, the Triage Coordinator supports day-to-day front office operations and assigned projects, collaborating with colleagues in the Brandeis Counseling Center. The Triage Coordinator is clinically supported by the Counseling Associate Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • BASICS: Provide BASICS interventions with Brandeis students. Provide administrative support for the BASICS program. Including tracking student completion of BASICS, streamlining referral processes, organizing training for BASICS providers, and program evaluation. Includes phone triage. Liaison to Health Awareness Wellness Program (HAWP)

  • Triage: Triage and coordinate Programming requests; maintain database. Assess the level of intervention that is needed. Develop flow charts

  • Front Office: Receptionist support; Communicates with and assists clients, employees, and the public in a courteous manner by phone and in-person. Provides accurate information and guidance and attends to client questions. Schedules appointments, making every effort to meet client and provider needs. Redirects calls as appropriate to meet customer needs. Performs accurate client identification, check-in, registration, and verification of demographic and fiscal information according to established procedures. Assist in monitoring Counseling Center email and respond accordingly. Attends weekly staff meetings.

  • Documentation: Scheduling, database management and reporting.

Additional Information:

Bachelor's degree required

BASICS training/certificate required (or a willingness to obtain after hire)

Must be Available Monday-Friday, flexibility to work two evenings per week until 6:30p

What you need to succeed

Strong organizational, and communication skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.

Requires strong problem solving and customer relations skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is essential. Ability to work independently

Familiarity/experience in the fields of college health promotion, education, student affairs, or public health is preferred.
