Carleton College invites applicants to the position of Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant), a full-time 10-month (mid-August to mid-June), 0.83 FTE, exempt, benefit-eligible, regular, staff position.
The Advanced Practice Provider offers clinical services and preventative care to Carleton students via scheduled individual appointments, telephone triage, and some walk-in care. The position provides primary health care to college students (16 to 24-year old’s) independently, within a collaborative team environment of Nurse Practitioners, Psychologists/Counselors, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Dietitian. Works closely with other members of Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) in the ongoing development of integrated physical and mental health services. Reports to the Director of Student Health and Counseling.

The successful candidate must be licensed as both a registered nurse (RN) and an advanced practice nurse (APRN) through the state of Minnesota. They must also maintain certification nationally as a nurse practitioner through either ANCC or AANP. Physician Assistants are licensed by the MN board of medicine. They must hold a degree from an accredited PA program and maintain national certification by NCCPA. Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license. Two or more years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider. Preferred: Experience in college health environment. An interest or experience in working with students who have eating disorders. Current CPR/BLS certification.
