EDUCATION SPECIALIST, INSTITUTE DISCRIMINATION AND HARASSMENT RESPONSE OFFICE (IDHR), Chancellor's Office, to provide training, education, and outreach on topics related to discrimination and discriminatory harassment to the MIT community and assist with data evaluation and related projects. Responsibilities include developing and facilitating training and awareness programming for students/postdocs/staff/faculty that aims to reduce incidents of discrimination and discriminatory harassment, increase bystander intervention, and promote inclusive environments and knowledge of on-campus resources; building and maintaining partnerships with other campus offices/departments; maintaining training records; collaborating on assessing effectiveness of training programs and making necessary revisions/enhancements and implementing and tracking completion of online modules; delivering intersectional and socio-culturally relevant prevention and intervention programs; ensuring IDHR materials, resources, and MIT policies are embedded within and available at student orientation programs; collaborating on and supporting educational efforts with campus partners; recruiting and engaging student volunteers; collecting and maintaining data and collaborating on developing reports and presentations; designing and testing survey instruments; entering and synthesizing training evaluation data; creating education and outreach materials; participating on task forces/committees; and performing other duties.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in related field (i.e., education, social work, student affairs, public health); three years' experience in the area of education or training, investigations, student conduct, or interpersonal violence and two years in a higher education or closely related setting; knowledge of discrimination and/or gender-based violence training and education; support for MIT's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; excellent interpersonal, writing, facilitation, and presentation skills; ability to cultivate relationships in MIT's diverse community; initiative; ability to plan, develop, organize, and follow through on projects/plans in a dynamic, high-pressure environment; and advanced-level Microsoft Office proficiency. Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 based on experience
