Essential Functions: This person will serve as a designated School Official (DSO) responsible for issuing I-20 (F-1 student eligibility document) and Alternative Responsible Official (ARO) for J1 Scholars. They will advise international students and scholars regarding immigration regulation and compliance, personal, financial, cross-cultural adjustment and related matters. Prepare and submit H1b petitions and work with the University Immigration Attorney on the filing of Permanent Residence petitions.
Qualifications: Education - Master's degree in international studies, social sciences or a related field from an accredited college or university. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience - Requires one or more years experience in immigration advising as well as a thorough understanding of current immigration laws and regulations, knowledge of filing procedures, and F-1/J-1/H1b/Permanent Residency requirements
