This is a full time position in the College of Engineering. This individual is responsible for developing and engaging a wide network of faculty, staff, students, advisors and collaborators in the development, implementation, evaluation and communication of programs designed to ensure a competitive engineering workforce.
As such the Director of Special Programs in the College of Engineering designs and manages key programs for enabling experiential learning opportunities as complements to the degree programs of the College of Engineering. As such, the Director reports to the Dean of the College of Engineering.

Requirements:
Requires doctoral degree from appropriately accredited institution and at least 8 years of demonstrated experience in areas relevant to the responsibilities of the position.
The candidate must have sufficient scholarly achievement, and an established record of effectiveness at or beyond the department level in strategic planning, administrative processes, grant development and grant management.
The successful candidate must also have an understanding of the dynamics of the different degree programs in the College of Engineering as well as the opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration; strong collaborative leadership skills, knowledge of university organizations, an ability to build effective working relationships with constituents, a commitment to increasing diversity in a STEM academic environment; and a desire to work as a part of an administrative team both inside the College of Engineering and in the university community at-large.
