Job Description:

The Records and Registration Office promotes the academic mission of Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC) by providing information to students, faculty, staff and the public. We are a dedicated team that upholds high ethical and professional values in all areas, maintaining accuracy, integrity, and privacy of student records – past, present, and future – by adhering to federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures.

The Customer Service Specialist position serves as the first point of contact for the Records and Registration Office through email, phone and in-person interactions. This position provides accurate Records and Registration information on such topics as enrollment verification, adding/dropping/withdrawing, and incoming and outgoing transcripts. This position also assists students with website navigation, finding and completing appropriate forms, and course registration issues. Providing positive customer service is an essential component to this position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Customer Service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information regarding the Records and Registration policies and procedures to customers in person, on the phone, and through e-mail
  • Word processing skills to prepare memos, letters and other materials that are grammatically correct, in proper format, and free of spelling errors using Microsoft Word or equivalent software
  • Knowledge of database management software sufficient to retrieve data and review information
  • Data Entry skills sufficient to accurately input data and maintain a high level of attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment and success working in a diverse and multi-cultural and multiracial community
  • Knowledge of Records and Registration policies and procedures
  • Experience using database management software such as Academic Records Student Affairs Application (ARSA), Integrated Statewide Records System (ISRS), Perceptive Content or other similar software
  • Knowledge and ability to understand issues around data privacy and maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • One (1) year of customer service experience

Other Requirements:

In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.

About Anoka-Ramsey Community College
Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC) is a multi-campus institution and a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. The Coon Rapids Campus is located on the banks of the Mississippi River twentymiles north of downtown Minneapolis. The Cambridge Campus is located on west Highway 95 on the Rum River in Cambridge. Beginning in 1965 with 600 students in a wing of Centennial High School in Circle Pines, Anoka-Ramsey Community College has grown considerably. In 1967 the college moved to the current Coon Rapids Campus of approximately 103 acres. The Cambridge Campus opened in 1978 and has shown consistent growth in enrollment and facilities. In addition, students may complete many ARCC college courses at convenient off-site locations throughout neighboring communities. During the 2008-2009 academic year, more than 11,000 students completed credit classes at the college.
