Our division is comprised of leading student affairs experts who support our campus on pressing student life matters including public service, health, wellness, social justice, residential living, food services, sports, recreation, career services, and student activities and organizations including sorority and fraternity life. Administrative Services staff members provide infrastructure and central support for the departments, programs, and services at Cornell Health. The department manages health informatics, organizational compliance, quality improvement initiatives, billing and finance, operational communications, and support for the advancement of strategic initiatives. Administrative Services staff members also collaborate ongoingly with centralized university and divisional services such as Facilities, Human Resources, Communications and Marketing, and Information Technology.
The Central Support work team promotes a culture of systems orientation and compliance, with a focus on promoting positive outcomes and adherence to policies, procedures and regulations. Activities include maintaining and implementing institution-wide policies and procedures, guiding and monitoring credentialing for all program areas, supporting department leadership in planning and budgeting people resources, managing organization and individual compliance, and providing a broad range of administrative support functions for the organization.
The Opportunity

In this key administrative role, you'll facilitate centralized support functions across all of Cornell Health's programs and services, ensuring the smooth operation of essential processes. As a primary point of contact for both visitors and staff, you will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming environment while providing exceptional service to our diverse community.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Support: Serve as the first point of contact for Cornell Health's administrative suite, assisting visitors and managing phones. You'll coordinate office supply inventories, arrange travel for senior leadership, and facilitate purchasing for staff members and programs throughout the organization.
- Event and Meeting Coordination: Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and coordination for meetings and events, from small group gatherings to All Staff meetings. You'll work with a variety of stakeholders to ensure seamless execution, including supporting presentations and other materials, and ensuring food meets the needs of all attendees.
- Project Administration: Take charge of administrative projects, working closely with department and senior leadership to launch new initiatives for the organization. You'll collaborate with various teams to create new processes, maintain a policy library, and support cross-departmental collaboration.
- Other Duties: Participate in university committees and contribute to ad-hoc projects, always striving for continuous improvement in administrative functions.

What We Need

- Associates degree with 2 to 4 years of experience in a fast-paced, customer-service oriented office environment, or a combined equivalent of education and related experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and email and scheduling programs.
- Professional demeanor and ability to interact with others with a positive, welcoming attitude.
- Strong people skills for successful work with a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Skilled at handling confidential information with tact and discretion, able to independently prioritize competing priorities in a fast-paced office environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a high-functioning administrative support team.
- Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
- Demonstrated skill in understanding of cultural differences.
