Duties:
SUNY New Paltz and the Center for Student Engagement invites applications for the Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life. The Center for Student Engagement provides services including orientation and transition programs, leadership development and student activities, fraternity and sorority support, student union building operations, and community and civic engagement. The Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life is expected to:
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in related field
1-2 year experience working in a university setting
Student and/or professional experience with knowledge in student activities, event planning, fraternity and sorority life, facilities operations, student conduct, hospitality management, or college student personnel
Excellent administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills
Able to work well in a diverse setting that includes students, parents/families, faculty, and staff
Ability to conceptualize, organize, and coordinate programs
A familiarity with educational goals, developmental and social needs of fraternity and sorority members and their organizations
Knowledge of Greek-letter organizations and councils (NPC, NPHC, IFC, MGC, LGC)
This position may observe weekend and evening hours to meet the operational needs of the position.
Preferred:
Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, or other related fields
Experience with Anthology Engage software platform
Ability to work within a dynamic environment and a proven competence in managing multiple tasks and competing priorities
Proven commitment to and appreciation for issues of diversity and community. Ability to articulate issues and trends in higher education.
Experience designing and conducting assessment activities. Excellent written and oral communication skills
This position may observe weekend and evening hours to meet the operational needs of the position.
