The Internal Events Manager, under the direction of the General Manager, and working with the Production Manager, functions to support all academic, interdepartmental, and student events, including but not limited to classes, recitals, rehearsals, club events, student affairs events, etc. The Internal Events Manager will work directly with the General Manager and the Production Manager to facilitate the smooth running of these events and be responsible for attending and overseeing each event.

Essential duties include but are not limited to:
Manage PAC Portal requests and Master Schedule of all Internal Events taking place in the PAC, avoiding conflicts of the facility, PAC staff, PAC events, and PAC equipment use.
Evaluate each internal event request for audio/visual needs and ensure all equipment is operational and available.
Supervise, train and manage a small team of Student Production Assistant leads to support Black Box operations independently from Concert Hall operations for internal events when both venues are running.
Attend, support, and manage all internal campus events at the PAC through the entirety of their live cycle, including planning, vendor liaising, staffing, and on-site execution, for academic classes, recitals, rehearsals, student affairs events interdepartmental meetings and luncheons, and club events and practices, etc.
Handle all audio/visual aspects including sound reinforcement and video recording for all internal events, including classes, recitals, rehearsals, etc.; oversee lighting for the same.
Manage the PAC Portal calendar, keeping it accurate and currently updated for students, staff, and faculty wanting to reserve the space.
Serve as a liaison between the PAC staff and departments/faculty to secure operational plans and establish strategies and action plans for all Internal events.
Creates the Daily detail run sheets for all Internal Events, arranges all logistical details, and communicates with and informs the PAC staff about all parts of the events, as well as post event reporting.
In House Events Digital media support: Record and provide for faculty recorded class sessions (enables faculty to post virtual content for potential quarantined or absent students, etc.); Ensure the transfer of this media to the Soka PAC Marketing Manager.
Working with PAC staff, ensure there is consistent communication about all elements of event planning, marketing, and internal and external communications about all Internal Events, as well as post event reporting.
Aids in keeping the backstage area ready for use for both the university and presented shows.
Assume additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent to graduation from a four (4) year college or university in a job-related field.
Additional experience in a job-related field may be substituted for up to two (2) years of the required education, on a year-for-year basis.
Experience
2-3 years of experience working in event coordination, preferably in a university setting.
2-3 years of audio/visual experience in a performing arts center, with strong demonstrated skills in audio/visual services, including video and streaming capabilities.

Proven strong time management skills to plan, prioritize and complete multiple assignments with fluctuating deadlines in an accurate and timely manner and maintain composure under pressure in a faced-paced environment.
Strong audio/visual skills including sound reinforcement, video recording, and lighting.
Proven ability to exercise independent thinking and judgement and to assess a situation, ask appropriate questions and respond accordingly.
Ability to work effectively with a variety of constituencies including students, campus departments, faculty, administrators, students, organizations and entertainment industry personnel.
Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to exercise initiative and work independently.
Excellent interpersonal and oral communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Soka University of America offers excellent benefits. The anticipated salary range for this position is $58,000 - $65,000 and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
