Under the direction of the Reservations Manager within the Student Life Events & Conferences, the Student Organization Reservations Coordinator provides services for registered student organizations, university departments and external clients looking to book space on campus. This person helps to intake reservations to gain more information about each event and ensure that space standards and University policies are being communicated and followed in the planning process. Serves as subject matter expert for event reservation needs for outdoor spaces.
This person proactively communicates with campus partners including, but not limited to, Facilities Operations and Development, Public Safety, OSU Police, Transportation & Traffic Management, SL Risk & Emergency Management, Housing & Residence Education, Rec Sports, and the Ohio Union Operations and AV Teams. This person ensures outstanding service to customers looking to book events; serves as subject matter expert for all event reservation/intake needs; proactively works with Reservations team to effectively manage a high volume of event requests submitted through multiple channels; encourages a positive working team environment across the department to ensure seamless guest experience and high-quality service is provided to clients and students; disseminates information regarding events with other university departments; available to work evenings and weekends.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications:
Required: Bachelors degree in hospitality management, business, communications, sports management, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; flexibility in schedule, including occasional weekend and evening work in conjunction with scheduled events; experience in program planning and administration; excellent attention to detail and follow through skills.
Desired: Masters degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs or related field; 0-2 years of large-scale university event planning experience working with student organizations; experience working and overseeing communities; experience compiling reports; experience using scheduling and event management software; experience in a supervisory compacity.
The targeted hiring range for this position is $18.17 - $23.90.
