The Associate Director has oversight of strategic decision-making and day-to-day operations of all new student transition programs, administrative and technical functions, including campus-wide coordination and collaboration, budgets, data reporting, program operations, staff training, program assessment and evaluation, software platforms, equipment and space, and leadership of professional and student staff.
This position reports to the Senior Director for First Year Student Engagement & Experience within the New Student Transitions and First Year Experience department.
- Master’s degree from a four year university or college in the area of higher education administration, college student personnel, student development, or related field;
- Three years professional experience working within academic, student success, or student affairs in support of student orientation, transition, success, and retention;
- Experience in large-scale programming planning, implementation, and evaluation;
- Ability to develop and implement presentations and workshops to diverse audiences;
- 2 years of direct budget management experience;
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of a team;
- Experience supervising professional and paraprofessional staff;
- Basic knowledge of technologies, including texting and mass email platforms, social media platforms and management systems, Adobe suite, desktop publishing, and virtual program/webinar platforms, such as zoom;
- Be available and willing to work irregular office hours during certain times of the year.
