St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of the Sturzl Center for Community Service and Learning. This is an 11-month recurring position that has the month of July off annually. This role provides leadership, strategic direction, and support for service-learning partnerships and community engagement programs at SNC.
Key responsibilities include fostering and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external partners; recruiting, mentoring, and assessing student staff; managing budgets, grants, and donations; and collaborating with the Director to establish departmental learning outcomes and assessment strategies. The Assistant Director also leverages departmental data to produce reports that inform and enhance programming.
Rooted in the College's Catholic, Norbertine, and liberal arts traditions, this position plays a pivotal role in building meaningful campus-community partnerships through curricular and co-curricular programs that promote community development and engagement.
Working Conditions:
Regular work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Occasional weekends, 1 evening per week, and 3-4 on-call weeks expected. 1-5 local community site visits and/or training are required annually. This position is expected to work on campus on a regular basis and is eligible to participate in a Hybrid Work and Flexible Schedules during the summer and winter break. Approval of Flexible Work Arrangements are at the discretion of the department supervisor to ensure that the needs of the department and college are met.

1-3 years experience in leadership development, program management, curriculum development and assessment
Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders is a plus
Evidenced commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and social justice
Knowledge of best practices in service-learning, student development, and themes of Catholic social teaching and their applications in higher education.
Ability to support students' whole-person development through community engagement.
Skilled at organizing events, programs, projects and seeing them through to completion and working with budgets.
Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers, particularly in conflict situations.
Ability to multitask, meet specific deadlines, and prioritize tasks and assignments.
Ability to demonstrate commitment to student development, service-learning and social justice as an essential component in the student experience.
Knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Office, Google Apps, web development, and social media tools) and ability to learn upgrades and new programs as needed.
