Brief Description of Duties:
SUNY Morrisville seeks a Director of Orientation and Title IX Coordinator! Reporting to the Vice President of Student Affairs and working closely with the Vice President of Human Resources, this role focuses on collaboration across the institution to develop and implement a transition curriculum designed to support new students as they begin their college journey, and ensuring compliance with the Title IX and Title VI policies.
Ideal candidates are committed to personal and professional growth, embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion, and are dedicated to supporting student development and success. This position also serves as the College's Title IX Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
Student Transition to College.
Lead and oversee cross-divisional orientation programs and ensure holistic, educational sessions.
Design, implement, and assess orientation for first-year, transfer, first-generation, parents, guardians, and other student groups within campus
Manage the orientation budget
Coordinate communication to new students with Admissions.
Maintain and update online orientation content.
Coordinate communication to new students with Admissions.
Leverage Mo'Engage for pathway development for first-year populations.
Belonging
Support college personnel with best practices for engaging diverse populations, addressing student concerns, and supervising undergraduate interns.
Manage the Bias Response Team with VPSA/CDO, ensuring training and handling bias and Title VI reports.
Coordinate programs advancing DEI-B goals, including external recruitment, mentoring, diversity education, and affinity group support.
Coordinate, develop and deliver educational programs and training in DEI-B, including external recruitment, mentoring, diversity education, and affinity group support.
Recruit, train, and supervise Mustang Mentors to support belonging initiatives during orientation, welcome weekend, and the semester's initial weeks.
Assist VPSA/CDO in developing and delivering DEI training for students, faculty, and staff.
Title IX
Serve as Title IX Coordinator, overseeing campus outreach, education, training, support services, and reporting related to Title IX, VAWA, NYS 129-B, DEI legislation, and Title VI in collaboration with VPSA/CDO.
Collaborate on employee cases with Human Resources and University Counsel.
Maintain records of reports and cases, including annual compliance reports.
Prepare and share annual statistical reports with the campus community, SUNY, NYSED, and other entities.
Support campus partners with additional reporting requirements.
General Student Affairs Responsibilities
Foster campus collaboration to support a holistic approach to student success.
Engage with students and employees through programs, events, athletics, orientation, SGO, leadership training, and residence halls.
Serve on the Student Affairs Leadership Team and participate in college events (e.g., move-in, open house, training).
Contribute to divisional and college committees.
Develop and implement program assessment and evaluation.
Work evenings and weekends during the academic year.
Supervision of professional staff as appropriate.
